Delaware

Delaware is not a big state, which means you have to intend to go there. Unfortunately, we missed it on our drive this summer to New England, but we will definitely get there soon!

Maryland

The Chesapeake Bay runs right through Maryland up to Baltimore, Maryland’s largest city. There is also the US Naval Academy in Annapolis.

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is home to some large cities in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It is also home to US Hershey chocolates and some historic US sites as well.

Virginia

Virginia is for lovers, that is their actual state motto. However, it is also for visiting the capital Washington DC (below), the wild ponies of Chincoteague, going back in time at Colonial Williamsburg and the Shenandoah Mountains.

West Virginia

West Virginia is home to one of the newest US national parks, New River Gorge. It is great for hiking and has some world famous whitewater rafting on both the Gauley River and New River.

Washington D.C.
