CONNECTICUT

We were only able to make a quick stop in Connecticut at the Mark Twain House in Hartford. I’d love to be able to make it back and spend more time and my dad talks about how much he loved Mystic and the Mystic Seaport Museum.

MAINE

Maine’s coast is the longest in the US and stretched out would reach from Miami to Seattle! Acadia National Park is Maine’s only National Park and is a must see. Some of the other coastal communities are worth a visit as well. We really wanted to go to Boothbay and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens to see the trolls sculptures, but it will have to wait for our next visit.

 

MASSACHUSETTS

 

 

NEW HAMPSHIRE

The White Mountains of New Hampshire is a great outdoor escape. The Kancamagus Highway from Lincoln to Conway, driving up or taking the cog up Mt Washington, or hiking the Flume Gorge. It is a great place to stop or a long weekend getaway.

 

NEW YORK

A lot of people think of New York City, but it is a big state! For sure visit NYC, but make sure to add some of these other spots to your vacation plans as well.

  • The Finger Lakes, Ithaca and Watkins Glen
  • Lake Placid and the Adirondack Mountains

RHODE ISLAND

Rhode Island is a tiny state, but has some amazing gems. Be sure to visit Newport to see the crazy mansions and the capital city Providence.

VERMONT

Vermont has some great ski mountains in the Green Mountains. Burlington is home to the University of Vermont. The state also home to Ben and Jerry’s so stop in and do an ice cream tour.
